You know that feeling when you are little and you hold your parents hand everywhere you go. The feeling of safety and comfort that it brings when you are young and the world is scary. But what about those times you let go of your Dads hand in a crowded place. Everyone’s taller than you and louder than you, life is all of the sudden so much scarier and you’re not sure how to get back to him. Lately, the Lord has been asking me to take His hand.
In the past few weeks, the Father has been consistently teaching me what it looks like to be loved by Him. And with that, he has been giving me these images of me holding hands with Him. A few days ago, we were asked to talk to God about what a love encounter with Him would look like. When I asked Him, He gave me this image of Him as a proud father smiling down at me as I was holding his hand, hiding behind him. He told me that all He desires for me to do is take His hand.
When I get scared, confused and overwhelmed, I tend to run and hide from the world and if I am being honest it just makes life more overwhelming, scary and confusing. But all this time, God has been standing next to me in my hiding and waiting for me to reach out and grab His hand. To let him protect me, love me and care for me as His child. He is asking me to abide in Him because He dwells in me. And that is the sweetest news of all.
So maybe if life is a little too much for you right now, your Father is looking down at you longing for you to take His hand so you can go through it together.
I love this!! I’m so proud of you! We love you so much!!!!
That’s what I need now someone’s hand to hold on to & what better than my heavenly father.
Thank you Delaney!
Love you
Loved reading this, such great imagery of Father God and a situation everyone can relate to, the security of a parent’s hand in a crowd until the accidental letting go, the frantic search, then the realization that your parent was beside you the whole time and you grab their hand to return to safety.
Wow, this is awesome. When life gets overwhelming which it sometimes does to reach up and take the Father’s hand. What a great reminder that He can see what we can not see. Thank you.
I love this tender revelation. “What does a love encounter look like” i love that question
Such a beautiful visual. Thanks for the reminder that he is always with us no for us.
Sorry for the typo. He is always with us and for us.
